A Smashing Find from Watchet (Somerset).

A rather special find from last Saturday's trip to Watchet. A fully 3d ichthyosaur skull.

The lower jaws can be seen jutting out of the matrix on either side, and the eye socket is visible on one.

I'll update when Field Marshal Smithwick gets it prepared, hopefully over Christmas, when it will be revealed from inside its limestone matrix. We still need to find the rostrum and much of the body. But we're keeping optimistic!
