Bristol
Bristol - A life sciences hub.

Bristol is a beautiful city, with gothic and classical style buildings from it's merchant heritage, such as Will's Memorial Building, blending nicely with the modern buildings of today such as Cabot Circus.

It's got shopping, entertainment, food and culture and being having two universities here means there's good night-life for students. There is literally so much to see and do!

Bristol may be known for Banksy and its Balloon Fiesta but it's also a hub for life sciences in southern England. So if you get abit board of Wallace & Gromit or shopping in Quakers Friar have a look at what else Bristol has to offer (scientifically speaking).

DINOSOC Fossil Identification Service

DINOSOC is here to help. In association with the Bristol Museum & Art Gallery, we are offering a brand-new service to identify your fossils. So, if you don't have a team of aspiring and/or trained palaeontologists around, DINOSOC is at your service!

To use this service, simply upload some pictures of your fossil(s) to our twitter page or send them via email. Our dedicated DINOSOC family will use all our combined knowledge to identify your fossils. If DINOSOC gets truly stumped, then we will get the expert opinion of the Bristol Museum curators. One way or another - you will find out what it is.

Bristol is situated near some great fossiling sites. Here, we give our guide to these sites, what you can expect to find, and details about the conditions, e.g. parking, shops nearby, risks, and how muddy you'll get.

This is a mixture of what you can find out on other websites and our experiences of them. So take this as additional guidance. We recommend you research any area you intend to go fossil hunting at.
